Wednesday was the 16th installment of Mass Innovation Nights in Waltham. Once again, it was hosted at the IBM Innovation Center, and this month’s tabletop theme was Green Tech. The launch presentations included Drupal Gardens, Real Cool TV, Episend, and Pietzo Electric Bikes. Heading into the event, Episend and Pietzo stole the most votes from the MassInno community, and both delivered. Real Cool TV also lived up to the hype — it was third in the pre-#MIN16 voting.

Here’s a little bit of Flickr fun shot by BostInno’s own Dave Bolton:

If you want really be in on the startup scene, we suggest that you head out I-90 West to the IBM Innovation Center  every second Wednesday of the month to experience the hottest and most innovative startups that Massachusetts is rolling out. Bobbie Carlton, the founder of Mass Innovation Nights (MassInno), is hoping that MassInno will help to make some noise for Massachusetts companies and, in turn, generate more community support for these early-stage products and services. Last night, MassInno  held their 15th monthly product launch event.

Sproxil LogoAs we all know, June is Innovation Month here in Mass. Mass Innovation Nights found a little innovation synergy last night with yesterday’s IBM SmartCamp, which also took place at the IBM Innovation Center. Among the five SmartCamp finalists was the winner of SmartCamp, Sproxil, which also demoed at MassInno. Sproxil, you’ll remember, is on a tear after taking home a PwC Promise Award at Wednesday’s MITX Technology Awards. (more…)

Antler Agency on: Two Boston Brands that “Get” Social Media

What's the Lansdowne got to do with Antler Agency?

The Internet: the one tool where we can market and brand ourselves for free. Boston companies and individuals are making themselves heard around the world with blogs, tweets, and videos posted around the web, but who has the most noteworthy marketing campaigns in Boston?

According to marketing agency Antler’s co-founder Terry Lozoff, The Lansdowne Pub, located on Lansdowne Street in Boston is a major player in Boston’s social media scene. The Lansdowne Pub is making themselves known on Twitter and Facebook with 2,920 fans and followers combined. It doesn’t stop there; they’re also pumping out content to YouTube and MySpace.

Still not convinced by the numbers?

Take Antler’s word for it. Co-founders, Luke Garro and Lozoff have been in Boston’s entrepreneurial and digital media scene since 2001 (about the time Live Journal was all the rage). Now, shacked up in Boston coworking space WorkBar, Antler manages both digital and experiential marketing campaigns for companies like Boston-based Global Post. (more…)

MIN12 – Recap

MIN Logo

MIN 12 was back in Waltham with a new setup

Last night, Mass Innovation Nights was back at the Charles River Museum in Waltham and they made a few changes for the 12th installment of the monthly startup showcase. Presentations were moved to the ballroom which was a great improvement from the old presentation corner that brought out the worst in my claustrophobia. Demo tables were dispersed throughout the museum which was a bit fragmented but well worth the space created for the main presenters. As always we’ve got all you no-shows covered with a recap of main presentations and the demo tables. (more…)

MassInno Nine Recap

MassInno's December event was this week

MassInno's December event was this week

Last night I scoped out the ninth installment of Mass Innovation Nights, a free event where startups and innovators convene for networking, exposure, and some expert advice. Sitting in the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation in Waltham, I found the juxtaposition almost comical as new web and tech startups presented in the same wing of the museum that showcases steam engines from the early 1900s. It’s an event that really makes you appreciate the progress of technology in the Boston area. I found a few things to like, so let’s get to it… (more…)
