AlwaysOn, the leading open media blog announced the winners of the 2010 OnMedia 100 Top Private Companies Awards. The award goes to technology companies making an impact in the worlds of advertising, media, marketing, branding, and publishing.The five primary categories the companies needed to excel in were: innovation, market potential, commercialization, stakeholder value creation, and media buzz.

1. See Why-See Why follows up with customers who left a shopping website without purchasing anything in real-time.

If you have a YouTube account, you know how exciting it can be to monitor traffic on your videos. Well, Wistia is taking that excitement a step further with a MUCH cooler analysis of online videos.

Wistia enables users to track the engagement of their videos online. Clients use their software to share, collaborate, and organize videos. So what sets it apart from websites like YouTube and Vimeo? Wistia’s Video Heatmaps track how viewers watch a video — where they get bored, what they watch again, and where they call it quits. A color-coordinated timeline depicts these rewind, fast-forward, and stop actions and compiles them across viewers.

MITX Awards Go to Local Talent

The 14th Annual MITX (pronounced My-Tex) Awards happened last night, and the podium was crowded with lots of local talent.

Zipcar (on First St. in Cambridge) took home awards in the Applied Technology category and was also singled out for Best Use of Targeting and Best User Experience. Dunkin’ Donuts took home the people’s choice award for Interactive Marketer of the Year. The euphoria surrounding Dunkin’ precipitated as a result of their project titled “Create Dunkin’s Next Donut,” which won Best Cross Media Campaign thanks in part to the local crew at Studiocom (on Summer St. in Boston).
