For entrepreneurs, public speaking is an essential skill – one that can make or break a company. Last night at The Leadership Program’s (TLP) Investor Event and Startup Showcase/Advice Session, startupers’ public speaking skills were put to the test. I watched as five of the 20 TLP startups pitched their companies to Venture Capitalists Eric Paley from the Founder Collective and Jon Lim from Polaris Ventures.
I tagged along with Pinyadda CEO Chase Garbarino to the TLP event at the EAPD Law Firm on Huntington Ave. TLP is an initiative in Boston and Silicon Valley that recognizes and educates CEOs in their mid 20’s to 30’s who have shown achievement in life sciences, tech, cleantech, or socal sectors. Boston has 20 companies in the TLP fellowship program.
21 companies presented to 7 Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors in 4 different rooms. I choose room 20-05 and got comfortable. (more…)
