Xconomy‘s Gregory Huang goes inside Google for a look at what the Internet giant is working on these days. From real-time search, to cloud applications, to local search, Huang talks with Google VIPs about all the topics you are buzzing about.
Luke Timmerman of Xconomy explains that Waltham-based EyeGate Pharma secured $11 M to move forward with their efforts to create serviceable methods for delivering drugs through the eye. That’s big money and could mean big changes in the long run.

Galen Moore of Mass High Tech reveals that Boston-based oneforty.com received $1.6 M in funding. Onforty.com provides Twitter analytics and breakdowns, and the local investors didn’t have trouble seeing the value.

The Boston Globe reports, via the Associated Press, that President Barack Obama has appointed a Cyber Security Chief. His name is Howard A. Schmidt, and he’s being brought in to “lead the effort to shore up the country’s computer networks.”
Xconomy’s Ryan McBride touches base with the CEO of Joule Biotechnologies, a Cambridge-based company developing fuels and chemicals in a process that “mimics photosynthesis.”
Jackie Noblett of Mass High Tech explains that Patriot Place — the massive shopping and lifestyle center around Gillette Stadium in Foxboro — is going green(er). The complex will be installing photovoltaic cells (solar panels) to help cut energy consumption.
