I was really digging the Appswell concept, it's a great way to engage the mobile development community and it sounds fun! That SPF app that you featured a week ago was so creative.

You're right Boston is definitely a mobile hub and it goes beyond applications. For example; SCVNGR and Mocospace, two companies that take mobile technology beyond the application.

Thanks for the comment. I really like what you guys are doing!

Great list Jennie. Couldn't agree more that there are some truly great things happening in Boston that make us the hub of mobile innovation, and good to see the community and support around them. I like the mass transit app as a starting point. New York has started a big apple app contest to crowdsource innovative ideas for transit apps. (Crowdsourcing innovative iphone apps? Brilliant!). Also, Citizens Connect is a real sleeper hit. I used it when daylight savings screwed up lights at my local dog park, and thought the whole experience was great.

Hey Nigel- I can hear your sarcasm when you're talking about the "rapid" transit system, haha! Oh the T, making Bostonians late everyday!

DunkinRun is an amazing idea. So targeted, so regional, so freakin awesome. It's a great example of how mobile apps can be monetized by filling a crazy-specific need.

I wasn't able to include the R.E.M app ( http://remhq.com/news_story.php?id=1096 ) It looks awesome though. I think R.E.M might have been the 90's CD I threw down for our office party's Yankee Swap. Crazy.

Thanks Matt Saunders for the tip!
