Find VC funding on Twitter!
In a world where so many entrepreneurs are vying for the attention of a handful of venture capitalists, there’s perhaps nothing more useful than Twitter.
Dozens of local VCs use Twitter in their daily lives, which, on the listening end, can mean a better understanding of what VCs are looking for in companies, what they spend their time doing day-to-day, and even what interests specific VCs in their personal lives. (We know personal connections with funders can mean more than the specifics of your product in the now.)
No matter what you hope to glean about the VC world, Twitter can offer some interesting insights. Here’s a quick list (in no particular order) of our favorite Boston VCs to follow on Twitter:
@Bijan -Bijan Sabet – Spark Capital
Great insights into the VC world, just watch out for all the tweets about his kids!
@mokoyfman – Moshe Koyfman – Spark Capital
Young dude who also uses Twitter for personal updates too.
@sbroderick – Shawn Broderick – TechStars
A must-follow if you’re a young entrepreneur.
@BobMetcalfe – Bob Metcalfe – Polaris Ventures
Authoritative tweeter with lots of insights to offer.
@VCMike – Mike Hirshland – Polaris Ventures
A traveler, Mike seems to have his finger on the national pulse.
@LarryVC – Larry Cheng – Fidelity Ventures
Another young VC who’s deep in the local scene.
@ataussig – Alex Taussig – Highland Capital Partners
Great for cleantech and greentech insights.
@MichaelGaiss – Michael Gaiss – Highland Capital Partners
Quality thoughts + local sports insight = solid follow.
@bussgang – Jeff Bussgang – Flybridge Capital Partners
Less prolific of late, he’s another one keeping it real.
@JoeVC – Joe Medved – SoftBank Capital
Straightforward and communicative, plus he digs good music.
Honorable Mention:
@leehower – Lee Hower – Point Judith Capital
(We had to give some love to the sister city’s VC scene!)
@Leaddog99 – John Landry
(He’s from the angel investor scene, but we love his tweets!)
@Vinit44 – Vinit Nijhawan
(Another angel guy who’s twitter-terrific!)
Obviously, there are way more VCs than the ones mentioned above in the bustling world of Boston entrepreneurship. If we missed any of your favorites, please suggest them in the comments section.
